What is Hot Stone Massage?

A hot stone massage is a type of relaxing deep massage therapy that uses soothing organic oils with warm basalt stones, using these stones can induce transformation on many levels. Basalt stones originate from volcanic matter and are extremely effective in their thermal and energy conductive effects. Due to their formation, they are mineral rich and retain heat which all add and aid your massage experience by deeply penetrating the muscle to relax and soothe. Nicola will massage to an effective pressure that is comfortable to you. The pressure can be adapted using the hot stone, which allows a deeper massage yet allowing to the muscle to remain relaxed because of the heat from the stone.  The shape and size of the stones helps give a deeper tissue massage.

In India Hindu’s recorded in Ayurvedic texts 5,000 years ago, that the practice of using hot stones to massage a person improved their health and aided relaxation.
